Breaking News: Marcus Rashford labelled a bad example at Man Utd by former Premier League star

Troy Deeney, a former Premier League striker, feels Marcus Rashford has been a poor role model for younger players at Manchester United.

The England international has been completely removed from England squads and has been unable to regain his best form in a United shirt for several months.

The 27-year-old had a fantastic 2022–2023 season, but he hasn’t been playing well since the beginning of the most recent campaign and has been unhappy and occasionally uninterested.

Deeney believes that this is an issue, as seen by the behaviour of other, younger United players.

When the 20-year-old winger scored against Leicester City last weekend, he decided not to celebrate, as captain Bruno Fernandes disclosed, “because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans.”

The former Watford striker believes Rashford is to blame for this and that Garnacho has adopted his negative demeanour.

“Let’s face it, he hasn’t performed up to the level we know he can for a little while now,” Deeney stated on talkSPORT.

“I see what happened with Garnacho over the weekend; he scores and he’s a little pouty because some fans have chosen to criticise him or something.”

“Hear me out on this when Marcus is flailing his arms and the world owes him a favour.” I believe that emanates from Marcus as well.

What if you’re a young athlete who admires him? Why don’t you say, “Well, I’m going to act the same way?”

Rashford will be hoping to remain in the starting XI under new manager Ruben Amorim, who will take charge of the team for the first time after the international break when the Red Devils travel to Ipswich Town.

United then host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League before Everton in the Premier League in a very busy first week in the dugout for Amorim.
