Due to injuries, Mason Mount has missed 27 games so far this season. However, the Manchester United midfielder is currently back on the grass at Carrington and getting ready to make a comeback.

Mason Mount is eager to put his injury nightmare behind him as he returns to Manchester United’s training program.

Mount, 25, began the Red Devils’ season with two starts after joining United for an initial £55 million in July from his boyhood team, Chelsea. Due to two different injuries, he has missed a total of 27 games since then.

His final game was a laborious 1-0 victory over Luton Town at home on November 11. When Mount returned to the field at the Red Devils’ Carrington training facility in late December, a new setback quickly struck before he could play.

United announced on their website on Tuesday morning that the former Chelsea player had resumed training, adding that he had put in a lot of work during his lengthy recuperation. Mount is still anticipated to miss Sunday’s FA Cup matchup against Liverpool, the Red Devils’ bitter rivals, at Old Trafford.

Manager Erik ten Hag stated prior to Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Everton: “I believe Mason Mount is currently in a good run and will make a quick comeback.” After the international break, I believe.”

In addition to the England international, Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, and Lisandro Martinez will all be absent for United. There is, however, some positive news, most notably the impending return of Rasmus Hojlund, the striker, who sustained a muscle injury during training last month.

Ten Hag disclosed: “I expect Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be available for our game against Liverpool next week. Some players are planning to return, hopefully when the process continues like it is now. Hojlund as well.

At his pre-Liverpool press conference on Friday, Ten Hag is anticipated to offer a new update. The 25-year-old has made just one assist in his 12 games as a United player thus far, and he is still waiting for his first goal.

Mount shared a photo of himself in the Carrington gym last week along with the message, “Progress.” “Almost there,” retorted Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes, while Mount’s close friend Declan Rice of Arsenal said, “What a sight.”
