Chelsea-related Despite earlier rumours that he had a break clause in his contract with Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen has no plans to leave the Turkish team in the middle of the season. This summer, the highly sought-after striker agreed to a season-long loan from Italian team Napoli to Galatasaray.

That action followed Chelsea’s unsuccessful attempt to make a last-minute transfer push for Osimhen on the day of the deadline. The forward was forced to leave Napoli and look for a new team.

Galatasaray pulled through a loan transaction at that point while the Turkish window was still open. However, it has been widely reported that if one of ten teams fulfils the star’s alleged £63 million release clause by January, the deal might be terminated.

There has been speculation that Chelsea would rekindle the push when the January transfer market opens, given their interest in the summer. However, it currently appears that the player intends to stay with Galatasaray.

Osimhen “isn’t planning” to leave in the middle of the season, according to Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Sky Sports Germany, and “talks” have been held about a permanent move. The player has stated that staying is a “option.”

However, the asking price for Napoli is a roadblock. In the summer transfer window, the Italian team is asking for £62.7 million (€75 million), which would make a deal “almost impossible” for Galatasaray.

This season, Osimhen has already made a name for himself as a fan favourite in Istanbul. He has eight goals and four assists in his nine games across all competitions.

In his last two games, the Nigerian has scored twice, including two goals in the team’s 3-2 Europa League triumph over Tottenham. In Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Benin, he also scored for Nigeria during the international break.
