Saudi Pro League teams may make approaches to Arsenal shortly as they evaluate “lucrative” offers for two prominent members of Mikel Arteta’s team.

Edu and Arteta planning summer activities as major Arsenal departures could occur
The North Londoners’ summer window plans are well advanced, as sports director Edu acknowledges that he has already determined his goals.

Edu responded to TNT over Arsenal’s summer transfer plans, saying, “I understand what the fans are asking for but we already have our targets.”

We have a lot planned, so if we don’t score many goals and generate many chances—which is the exact reverse of what happens because we create many chances and score many goals—I will be concerned.

“Every year we aim to improve, and I believe we are in a good place right now. See if we can continue to get better. You frequently have to move on and try to find what we’re actually looking for during recruiting meetings because you don’t see the player’s character or it doesn’t fit well with what we are trying to accomplish.

“Everyone who we have signed since we began working together is nearly the same—they are all young, passionate, and driven individuals with bright futures ahead of them.”

According to some estimates, Arsenal may even break their summer transfer record when the transfer market reopens, which would be quite the accomplishment given that they spent almost £208 million on transfers last year.

In addition to a central midfielder (Charles Watts), Edu and Arteta are pursuing a prolific new striker for Arsenal, as there are doubts about the futures of Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey in north London.

Jesus, who joined from Man City for an estimated £45 million in the summer of 2022, has only scored eight goals and provided seven assists across all competitions this year. If someone like the speculated target Viktor Gyokeres were to sign, his spot would be seriously called into doubt.

Given that Partey’s contract is set to expire next year, Arsenal is also willing to selling the Ghanaian to anyone who makes the best offer. He has been a fantastic servant for the north Londoners since they spent his entire £45 million buy-out clause to acquire him from Atletico Madrid in 2020, but it’s possible that his time at Arsenal is running out.

Saudi teams are evaluating “lucrative” contract offers for Partey and Jesus.
The two are making waves in the Middle East and cost Arsenal a total of £90 million to sign.

As they look to recruit more well-known players to their expanding league, Saudi teams are reportedly considering making “lucrative” contract offers to entice Jesus and Partey away from Arsenal this summer, according to GiveMeSport.

It would be fascinating to watch if Arteta’s side is “willing to consider” offloading the two in order to bankroll squad enhancements before 2024–2025.
