With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos taking over as football operations directors following their acquisition of a minority investment in the club, Manchester United is in for a busy summer.

United is now focused on the transfer market as they attempt to improve on their eighth-place Premier League performance from the previous season after ultimately deciding to stay with manager Erik ten Hag.

Ratcliffe is eager to upgrade the team, therefore United should be active in the market. However, they must be mindful of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Furthermore, it has been disclosed that United’s budget, contingent on sales, will not exceed £50 million.

Among the players linked with moves to Old Trafford are Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna, Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton, and Matheus Cunha of Wolves. The bulk of the current team is reportedly for sale, according to reports.

Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo are just a few of the players Ratcliffe wants United to centre around. The process of weeding away players has already started, with high earners Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial being released after their contracts ended.

In addition, Jadon Sancho is for sale after a public rift with Ten Hag. Borussia Dortmund, where the winger ultimately spent the second part of the season on loan, advanced to the Champions League final, and United is reportedly seeking a cost of about £40 million.

Following his loan stint at Getafe, Mason Greenwood is also expected to depart the team, as he is being pursued by other teams in Europe. Since Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Donny van de Beek all nearing the end of their contracts, it’s possible that they may all be sold.
