Exclusive: Ruud Van Nistelrooy left devastated by Man Utd exit after rejecting jobs to take role
As a result of his departure from Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy has gone through a period of profound grief.
After returning to Old Trafford as a member of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff in the summer, Van Nistelrooy had the expectation that he would be given a coaching role under the new United manager Ruben Amorim. However, the Portuguese manager decided that there was no room for the Dutchman after deciding to bring his own trusted team with him from Sporting Lisbon.
Van Nistelrooy, a former striker for United who served as interim manager when Ten Hag was fired a month ago and was unbeaten in four games during that time, has decided to remain silent over Amorim’s choice.
Andre Ooijer, a former defender for Blackburn and Holland, who is a close friend of Van Nistelrooy and was a member of his coaching squad while he was in charge at PSV Eindhoven, has disclosed that his buddy is devastated by the news.
Ooijer stated that Ruud desired to continue working as an assistant. In the event that he had not been interested in working with Amorim, he would have spoken his opinion. Ruud has been offered the opportunity to serve as manager or head coach at other teams; however, he has chosen not to accept such positions on purpose since he is more interested in working for the club that he adores the most.
Not to be forgotten is the fact that Ruud performed exceptionally well at United, achieving a draw against Chelsea and winning the other three matches. It was obvious that the supporters had a lot of affection for him. Following his most recent match, all you needed to do was see how they responded to him. Amidst challenging conditions, he performed really well. In his role as manager, he has never been defeated. There is a possibility that the fans may start shouting for Ruud once more if Amorim does not get the desired outcomes in the first few games.
Van Nistelrooy resigned from his position as manager of PSV following a prosperous year in which the team achieved a number of victories, including qualifying for the Champions League, winning the KNVB Cup, and taking home the Johan Cruyff Shield. As the summer approached, he was on the verge of becoming the manager of Burnley when United presented him with the opportunity to collaborate with Ten Hag.
Wesley Sneijder, a former international teammate of Van Nistelrooy, is confident that Van Nistelrooy is destined to return to Old Trafford as manager at some point in the future. Sources close to the 48-year-old have stated that he has now set his sights on finding a post in the Premier League after his time spent at Old Trafford.
In a statement, Sneijder stated, “If United are clever, and I am certain that this is what they are doing, they will get Ruud ready to take over in two or three years.”
Rafael van der Vaart, a former playmaker for Tottenham, further elaborated on the situation by saying, “When Ten Hag was fired, Ruud was thinking, ‘I must take this chance and if I do well, something can work out for me.'” However, the fact that the club has chosen to move in a different direction does not make it any less exciting for him.
“Now is the time for Ruud to shine. This is a profession that he enjoys doing. Old Trafford is ruled by Ruud, who is the king. Due to the fact that he is a legend, everyone adores him. He is completely devoted to the club, and the club is devoted to him.
Van Nistelrooy sought out to his former Holland coach Marco van Basten for guidance after he accepted the opportunity to step in following Ten Hag’s resignation after a terrible start to the season. This was made after Van Nistelrooy accepted the situation.
According to Van Basten, “Man United is such a massive job that you need to have all of the experience and qualities as a top manager that you can possibly have.” Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City are the four clubs in the world that demand managers who are capable of overseeing every aspect of the club. These four clubs are Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
The United Airlines flight is the most challenging of those four. Even the most well-known faces in the industry, such as Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, have not been successful in turning things around. There has been no such thing.”
