Fans are only just realising how much Chelsea were paid for Jamal Musiala
Fans are still perplexed by the amount of money Chelsea received for Jamal Musiala, which they have only recently become aware of.
Following his time spent in the England youth system, Musiala made the decision to play for Germany. Since then, he has developed into one of the most talented players in Europe and has excelled on the international stage at the 2024 European Championship.
After originally joining Chelsea from Southampton in 2011, the Bayern star spent eight years as a member of the club’s youth program. However, he left for Munich at the age of sixteen without ever making an appearance for the first team.
Musiala is not the first world-class talent that Chelsea has let slip through their fingers; Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, and Michael Olise are just a few examples of players who have left the club before reaching their full potential.
Supporters of the London club, on the other hand, have been blown away by the amount of money that Bayern has paid for the young player. Bayern has agreed to transfer a compensation package for the player that is estimated to be worth approximately £170,000 (€200,000).
It was reported by Mail Online that a sell-on fee of twenty percent was included in that 2019 transfer, despite the fact that there was no buy-back clause included in the transaction.
The transfer market website transfermarkt reports that Musiala’s current transfer value is greater than £115 million, which places him as the eighth most valuable player in the history of world football.
Musiala’s departure, on the other hand, was more complicated than a typical transfer, as the German international player disclosed that Brexit was a significant factor in his decision to return to his home country.
“I was just finishing up my GCSEs when I was 16 years old, and there was a lot of uncertainty in our family,” he said in an interview with The Players’ Tribune that he gave. The topic at hand is not football, but rather life.
“As the United Kingdom was on the verge of implementing Brexit, my mother was concerned about the potential impact it could have on her professional life as an expat working in London. We were unable to obtain answers that were crystal clear. It was anxiety-inducing.
We were offered the opportunity to relocate back to our hometown by Bayern Munich at approximately the same time. Alternately, I could say that our “first home” And I adored England. I had the impression that I was partially English. The decision to uproot your life in such a manner is never an easy one, but it felt like it was completely predetermined. A certain quality about Bayern seemed to be quite natural.
