During their first game of the USA preseason tour, Gabriel Jesus laughed at the antics of his Arsenal teammate Ben White and Bournemouth goalie Neto.

White, 26, is regarded as one of Arsenal’s most dedicated players who is always eager to contribute to the squad. His forceful and even controversial attitude on corner kicks frequently infuriates opposing goalkeepers.

Even though it was a preseason friendly on Wednesday, White didn’t hold back.

As seen in the Premier League the previous season, the former Leeds and Brighton midfielder was attempting to nudge Bournemouth’s Neto in the wrong direction. Although Cherries left-back Milos Kerkez attempted to block White, the Arsenal defender made contact with Neto as the ball into the goal.

Fortunately for Bournemouth, the Brazilian was called for a foul when he successfully punched the ball away. After Arsenal player Fabio Vieira’s first goal was equalised by Antoine Semenyo, the game in Los Angeles concluded in a 1-1 tie.

But since it was a preseason friendly, there was a penalty shootout.

Neto’s countryman Jesus was observed making jokes about the incident with White while both sides waited. The three players laughed together, relieving tension.

Jesus and White had the last say, with Karl Hein of Arsenal saving two penalty kicks before Jakub Kiwior scored the decisive goal. The manager of the Gunners, Mikel Arteta, expressed his satisfaction with the way his team began their preseason tour, highlighting the efforts of the younger players in particular.

After the game, Arteta said, “I’m really pleased because we had really special circumstances today.” “Since we arrived two days ago, a lot of young children who had never played before joined us, and I believe we put up a really good show against a team that is on a somewhat earlier schedule than us.

“I’m incredibly happy of them, the younger players as well as the experienced ones, because they have performed their jobs in a really amazing fashion. They [Bournemouth] had a full first-team available.

“That was another major step, and it was at a different level than the one we played last Saturday [beating League One side Leyton Orient 2-0 behind closed doors].”

“We looked really connected and as a manager, it was just a joy to see the faces of those kids making their debut, participating, and the excitement showed, and as well to see our senior players put themselves in their shoes and give them the support and be the role models that we want.”

When Manchester United plays Arsenal on Saturday, they will be the next team to encounter White’s strategies.
