Graeme Souness shares Erik ten Hag sack theory and slams three Man Utd players

The legendary Liverpool player Graeme Souness has voiced his disapproval of Manchester United’s summer spending binge of £200 million, specifically targeting players such as Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.

It has been said by Graeme Souness that three of Manchester United’s five summer additions would not “make a difference.” This statement was made in response to the transfer activity of Manchester United.

In spite of spending over 200 million pounds on players such as Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United has had the worst start to a Premier League season in the history of the club. They have only managed to collect eight points from seven games.

However, Souness identified Zirkzee, Mazraoui, and Ugarte as especially unimpressive pieces of business. He asserted that these acquisitions are proof that United was not “ambitious enough” in their pursuit of their goals. Additionally, he is of the opinion that they have been “signing poorly for years,” referring to the multimillion-dollar agreements that have been made for Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba as “madness.”

As far as the players that they brought in this summer, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, and Noussair Mazraoui are concerned, Souness stated, “I look at players that they signed!” But United is not a club that stands in the center of the pack. If Real Madrid were to sign such guys, would they be interested in doing so?They are not going out and signing the kinds of players that will make a difference, which is why I do not believe that they are ambitious enough. Ultimately, that is what brings Ten Hag to his knees. The players that he is signing are ones that he has already collaborated with, thus it is unlikely that they were suggested by someone else.

I am at a loss for words when it comes to United as of right now. Despite the fact that we have been having the same talks about them for ten years, I have not witnessed any improvements, not even under the new ownership. It was my expectation that they would improve this season, but they have not made any progress at all.

However, that just accounts for the playing personnel. As I look up at those in higher positions, I can’t help but wonder: Are they going to make a change for Manchester United? Where does their football expertise come from when they are competing at the greatest level?
