He has cost us a lot, but Arteta will not tolerate it anymore. I don’t want to see him in the Arsenal lineup against Bournemouth. Arsenal icon Arsene Wenger promises to have a private dispute with Arteta should he start for £50 million against Bournemouth the following week. Not Martinelli, Not Trossard, and Not Havertz

It seems like Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has finally given up on Gabriel Jesus, as rumors persist that he will pique interest in one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe once more. The Brazilian has an unimpressive record while wearing an Arsenal shirt, having failed to score in eight of his club games this season.

The attacker, who cost £45 million to sign from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, was heralded by Arsenal supporters as a vital addition; but, in his 77 appearances, he has only scored 19 goals.

His time at north London has also been hampered by ailments; a hamstring issue has already kept him out of action for two weeks of this campaign.

His future at Arsenal appeared to be in doubt last summer due to the club’s connections to players like Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokores, and Victor Osimhen. But an attempt to buy a high-paid striker never happened, as Arteta chose to bolster his team elsewhere by bringing in Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori.

After Sesko signed a new contract at Red Bull Leipzig in June that extended his stay there until 2029, there seemed to be less interest in him in particular. The Slovenian performed poorly as well at Euro 2024, failing to score in any of his nation’s four games.

But the 21-year-old has scored six goals so far this season, including a brace against Juventus in the Champions League. Plus, it looks like his performance has inspired Arteta to consider a 2025 bid.

TEAMtalk claims that the two clubs have already initiated communication and reached a mutual understanding. Even with his new contract, Sesko is rumored to have a £55 million release clause. The Premier League team has been informed that they can take precedence over negotiations as soon as this money is paid.

Sesko also seems to be a good fit for Arteta’s current Arsenal mindset. The striker has always been seen as a future star at the club and international levels, and the Spaniard has sharpened his focus on younger recruits.
