Lamine Yamal has taken the world by storm and swiftly established himself as one of the top footballers in the world. He is regarded as one of the top youngsters in the world right now, and he is playing much beyond his years. With that said, he’s not your average 17-year-old, and Las Palmas treated him as an adult, presenting him with some difficult tasks during the Spanish side’s match against Barcelona on Saturday.

One challenge in particular, from Alex Munoz, left him in very bad shape. While referee Adrian Cordero Vega did not call a foul, the boy has since taken to social media to show viewers the state his foot was left in after the game, which is very eye-opening, to say the least.

Shortly after Barcelona defeated Las Palmas 2-0, Yamal rushed to Instagram to show footage of the state his foot was left in after Munoz’s harsh tackle. He also expressed his disappointment with the referee’s inability to make a decision. The graphic showed his foot covered in blood, with the phrase “It’s not a foul!”.

After the boy showed admirers the horrible state of his foot, footage of the incident that directly wounded him emerged on social media. Munoz appears to stamp on his foot, leaving the 17-year-old screaming on the floor in pain. However, referee Vega did not consider the challenge a foul, so no punishment was taken.

Barcelona fans will hope that Yamal’s injury is not serious and that he recovers swiftly. The club is now in one of the most competitive La Liga title chases in years. Only three points separate the division’s top three teams: Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid. If Hansi Flick’s side is to win the crown, the explosive adolescent must perform at his peak.
