Manchester City is considering making a £68 million offer for Crystal Palace striker Eberechi Eze because Kevin De Bruyne’s future at the team is uncertain this summer. According to The Mirror, Tottenham and other Premier League teams are reportedly on high alert due to Eze.

With just one year remaining on his contract, De Bruyne, 33, is highly sought after by Saudi Arabia for a summer signing. For the Belgium captain, signing with Saudi Arabia would be a wise financial decision. However, when Eze represented England in the Euro 2024 final—a match that they lost to France—he garnered further notoriety on the grand stage.

He participated in 31 games for Palace the previous season, scoring 11 goals and setting up six more. That was sufficient to reserve a late flight. The 26-year-old has a release option worth more than £60 million, but he is imprisoned at Selhurst Park until 2027.

Pep Guardiola refuted reports that De Bruyne will be departing City this summer, but the team is still considering ways to improve. While City was on a US trip, Guardiola spoke about his long-standing star player. It was stated that De Bruyne had “agreed” to the terms and that he was amenable to an offer from Al-Ittihad.

According to a different Daily Mail article, City and Borussia Dortmund are discussing the sale of Yan Couto. He is wanted by the German team. The 22-year-old Couto from Coritiba joined the Premier League winners. Although he has never played for City, he has made four appearances for the senior Brazil national team.

He has previously been on loan at SC Braga and again at Girona. However, given that Couto is rumoured to demand up to £25 million and Dortmund is the team most likely to sign him, he might be departing permanently.

Couto played 34 La Liga games for Girona in the previous season. In the summer of 2019, his contract with City expires.
