Manchester United may win the FA Cup soon, but that won't stop them from firing Erik ten Hag.

Over the weekend, in a thrilling quarterfinal match, the Red Devils defeated their fierce rivals Liverpool 4-3. Ten Hag was asked if he thought the game would be a game-changer. Despite their difficult season, Manchester United hopes to qualify for the Champions League and finish strong.

However, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking over as the new owner after the season concludes, the Dutchman might not be able to hang onto his job after winning the prize.

Ten Hag won’t be spared this season, even if they win the championship, according to senior writer Valentijn Driessen of the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, who made this statement on a podcast in the Netherlands (via SoccerNews).

Driessen stated, “Of course it’s still the end,” suggesting that Ten Hag’s tenure was coming to an end. “Not even if he’s the FA Cup winner.” After winning the FA Cup, Louis van Gaal also left, but his journey wasn’t as challenging.

United is in sixth place, nine points behind Aston Villa, who are in fourth place. And they finished in fourth place in the Champions League group stage after being utterly destroyed.

United has lost eleven of the remaining ten Premier League games. They also have an FA Cup semi-final match at Wembley against Coventry City.
