Premier League’s worst five managers as Ivan Juric finally leaves Southampton
Ivan Juric was fired by Southampton following their Premier League relegation, despite the Croatian only winning one game. However, this is not the poorest Premier League record ever.

Ivan Juric took them down with a whimper, and Southampton has lost no time in cutting ties with him. Their instant return to the Championship in record time was sealed with the defeat at Tottenham.
Relegation with seven games remaining has never happened to a Premier League team, but it is more undesirable history for the Saints and Juric. Although he doesn’t have a very impressive record in England’s top division, he isn’t the worst manager to have ever worked here.
Russell Martin was replaced by the Croatian, but he had little effect on the team’s performance. It was a terrible period for him overall, with the exception of his lone victory over Ipswich.
Many other managers have come and gone, frequently in a flash when it became clear they weren’t making the impact that was wanted. While some rely on the so-called new manager bounce, others are so lost that they have little control over the course of events once they get there.
We examine who, based on the statistics, had the poorest experience in the dugout during the Premier League period, when victories were highly valued.
5. P15, W1, D2, L13 Ivan Juric
The ex-Roma man himself. He was brought in as a surprise hire at St Mary’s, and despite a draw against Fulham in his first game, he mostly dealt in losses. Southampton continued to score goals on a regular basis and were no more difficult to play against. Juric won’t have a pleasant memory of his time in England, even if he was only ten minutes away from winning at Manchester United until a late collapse.
4. P24, D5, L19 Paul Jewell
A man will not be viewed favourably if he has more than twenty games and is unable to secure a victory. Although Southampton has the potential to surpass Derby as the team with the fewest points ever, Jewell was ultimately the one who defeated the Rams for the time being. When Billy Davies was in command, he didn’t even get to experience the thrill of victory; the occasional tie was as good as it got.
3. P7, W1, D1, L5 Les Reed
Technically, it remains the shortest manager’s stay in Premier League history. After just forty-four days in the hot seat, Charlton concluded they had made a grave mistake. Reed explained the poor run of performances by pointing to a tiny team and an injury crisis.

During a season that would see them relegated, the Addicks only managed one victory, against Blackburn. They also halted their losing ways after a draw with Everton, but in the end, Charlton decided to make a change because they were not improving quickly.
2. Terry Connor, D4, L9, and P13
Following Mick McCarthy’s dismissal, Wolves looked to his assistant to try to salvage their Premier League campaign. When his team overcame a 2-0 deficit to draw at Newcastle, it appeared as though Connor had instilled a spirit of perseverance, but things took a turn for the worst after that. Connor was not retained that summer, and Wolves lost all four of their games without a fight. Two of his draws ended in goalless draws.

1. P4, L4: Frank de Boer
In many respects, he was useless. It was became apparent to Crystal Palace that they had not brought in a Dutch genius who would revolutionise football at Selhurst Park. The worst possible start was a shocking 3-0 loss to newly promoted Huddersfield at home. Jose Mourinho called De Boer the “worst manager in Premier League history” before the Eagles fired him before he had even seen his team score.
