Apparently, Raheem Sterling was the one who witnessed his “payslip” being leaked on social media, and it revealed the exact amount of money that Premier League stars can make.

Seeing football players earn staggering sums of money is not something that should come as a surprise. According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the median gross annual earnings for a full-time employee in the United Kingdom is 37,430 pounds as of April 2024.

It is possible for players to earn tens of thousands of pounds per week, even at the lower end of the Premier League. According to Capology, the average annual salary of a player in the top division in England is three and a half million pounds.

Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, both of Manchester City, are reportedly the highest paid players in the league, with weekly salaries of £400,000 and £525,000, respectively, according to local reports.

To put this into perspective, the astonishingly high weekly wage that Haaland receives is fourteen times higher than the amount that the typical full-time worker in the United Kingdom earns in a calendar year.

Obviously, players and clubs are not very good at confirming numbers, but it has been reported that Sterling’s “payslip” was “leaked” in the year 2019.

Sterling, who is currently receiving a loan from Chelsea and playing for Arsenal, was at City at the time. When he took his vehicle to a garage, the supposed payslip of the England international player, which included a loyalty bonus, was left in his vehicle.

And the individual who discovered it uploaded it to the internet. Several different amounts were printed on the document, which can be found attached below.

Sterling allegedly had a net pay of £1,160,634.94, which was comprised of a basic pay of £708,333.33 and a bonus of £1,500,000. This amount appears to be equivalent to a month’s wage.

As a result of deductions, the amount was significantly lower than it had been before taxes, which was £2,208,333.33.

It should be brought to your attention that neither Manchester City nor Sterling have provided any form of confirmation that this payslip is genuine.

In spite of the fact that he has made 11 appearances in the league this season, the winger’s loan at Arsenal for the entire season has not gone as well as he might have hoped it would. He has not scored to show for his efforts.

Despite this, his manager, Mikel Arteta, was quick to support him and believe that he would have a “impact” on the race for the title.

The previous week, Arteta stated, “He has to have it because we really need him,” and he was right.

“Raheem is so experienced… that could be relevant to the next game, to the next action.”
