On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, 76, passed away, according to Real Madrid’s official release. He was the custodian for Real Madrid from 1968 to 1986, winning eight La Liga championships and other honours.

 

 

A legendary goalie who made a lasting impression on Real Madrid’s history and was praised by the team as a “legend of Spanish football,” Miguel Angel Gonzalez died at the age of 76 from ALS, which he made public in December 2022. Miguel Angel, referred to as “the cat” because of his remarkable agility and reflexes, took home the Zamora Trophy during the 1975–76 campaign. He also made eighteen appearances for Spain. He played for the Spanish national team in two FIFA World Cups. The first took place in 1978 in Argentina, where coach Ladislao Kubala was in charge. The second took place with coach Jose Emilio Santamaria in Spain in 1982.

 

Throughout his life, Miguel Angel has maintained a close relationship with Real Madrid.
