Shock new favourites to sign Paul Pogba emerge after he’s spotted with club owner
Following the discovery of Paul Pogba, a club that came as a surprise has emerged as the leading contender to acquire the services of the former Manchester United star.
After a drugs test revealed that Pogba had elevated levels of testosterone in his system, he was given a four-year suspension from playing football in February. This will almost certainly put an early end to his career.
On the other hand, the Frenchman’s suspension was eventually reduced to just 18 months after he successfully appealed the decision, which allowed him to return to the field of play in March.
In spite of this, Pogba’s former club Juventus made the decision to terminate his contract. As a result, a number of the most prestigious clubs in the world are reportedly considering making a move before the end of his suspension, which is scheduled to take place in one month.
Although there have been offers from a number of clubs in the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer, Pogba has reportedly expressed his desire to remain in Europe and compete for a top club, as stated by multiple reports.
After the sporting director Medhi Benatia confirmed that the club was interested in Pogba, Marseille appeared to be the most likely next destination for him. However, in a shocking turn of events, it now appears that Pogba may have made a complete about-face and could instead link up with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Pogba was seen meeting with club owner and fellow United legend David Beckham prior to Inter Miami’s Major League Soccer (MLS) opener against New York City FC. This led to the unexpected links to the American club.
As a result of Pogba’s presence at the game alongside tennis legend Serena Williams, speculation has been fuelled that he might play for their team in pink and black the following month.
After making a surprise appearance during the halftime show of the Super Bowl, Williams posted photos of herself with both Pogba and Beckham, along with the caption, “Why do athletes do the same thing?” Oh, yes, and just about the night before.”
The odds on Pogba signing with Inter Miami have increased to 9/4 as a direct result of his attendance at the 2-2 draw that took place at the Chase Stadium. Marseille and Manchester United are still in second and third place, respectively, with odds placed at 9/2.
One potential obstacle that Pogba might face if he were to join Messi at Inter Miami is the possibility of him not being able to fulfil his hopes of playing for the French national team once more. Players from outside of Europe typically have a difficult time breaking into what is already an impressive French team.
