Sir Jim Ratcliffe name drops five as he says Man Utd players are ‘not good enough and overpaid’
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the manager of Manchester United, has criticised five current players, stating that they are “not good enough” and “overpaid.”
Ratcliffe, the manager of INEOS, has been forced to endure the most difficult period in the history of Manchester United ever since he completed the deal that would allow him to become a minority owner of the club.
As things currently stand, United is currently ranked fourteenth in the Premier League table, which puts them on track to achieve their worst finish in the competition since it was first established in 1992.
And now, Ratcliffe has decided to speak out in order to address the problems that have been occurring at the club. He has identified five current players as being a part of the conflict.
In the time since Ratcliffe’s arrival, one of the most significant criticisms that he has been subjected to is regarding the manner in which the club is being financed under his leadership.
As a consequence of this, he has decided to discuss this very matter in a shocking interview with BBC Sport.
“If you look at the players we are buying this summer, that we didn’t buy, we’re buying Antony, we’re buying Casemiro, we’re buying Onana, we’re buying Hojlund, we’re buying Sancho.” as Ratcliffe put it.
“All of these things are from the past, and regardless of whether we like it or not, we have inherited them, and we need to figure out how to deal with them.
“For Sancho, who now plays for Chelsea and we pay half his wages, we’re paying £17m to buy him in the summer.”
“It takes time for us to move away from the past into a new place in the future,” Ratcliffe explained to reporters.
“Some are not good enough, and some probably are overpaid, but for us to mould the squad that we are fully responsible for, and accountable for, it will take time,” Ratcliffe said in response to a further question about whether or not his comments meant that these five players were not good enough for Manchester United.
We are currently in a period of transition, during which we are transitioning from the here and now to the future.
As is common knowledge, the team possesses a number of outstanding players, and the captain is an outstanding football player. We are in desperate need of Bruno because he is an outstanding football player.
During the bombshell interview, Ratcliffe revealed that all five of the players who were called out had experienced difficulties during their time at United. As a result, some fans have questioned the reason why these players are still playing for the club.
Antony, a winger, is currently on loan with Real Betis, a club in La Liga, just like Sancho. He has not been able to make an impression since he moved to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022 as part of a deal that cost £81.5 million.
Casemiro has been the subject of the most criticism in recent times, out of all the names that were listed by the chairman of INEOS. This is due to the fact that he is having a difficult time finding a place in the starting lineup, despite the fact that he is paid £350,000 per week.
