INEOS accept defeat as two deals collapse – Man Utd’s nightmare end to the transfer window

INEOS is tasked with the significant responsibility of preventing Manchester United from experiencing a nightmarish conclusion to their summer transfer window.

Manchester United had a great start to the summer, and INEOS got great reviews for the first few players they hired. But there has been no news in the last few weeks, and fans are getting more and more worried that the transfer window could end terribly.

It was thought that getting Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro from Lille would be great replacements for Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial.

It’s not clear, though, if United have improved the team that ended eighth in the Premier League and out of the Champions League group stage last year.

The Red Devils have spent a total of almost £40 million net, including £88.5 million on their two new additions and less than £50 million from four senior sales.

However, before the August 30 deadline, Erik ten Hag allegedly still wants a right-back, a central midfielder, and another center-back.

As it stands, there looks to be little possibility of the Dutchman gaining what he wants unless there is an epic change of tide on the horizon.

Two important exits fail
The two players that United needed to keep spending in the summer were Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay, but both seem to be leaning more in the direction of staying.

The right-back’s demands for a pay-off from United one year before his contract ends have proven to be a sticking point despite West Ham United’s pursuit of Wan-Bissaka.

McTominay has reportedly received two proposals from Fulham rejected, the most recent of which was for £20 million, £5 million less than his estimate.

His status is still unclear because reports indicate that the Cottagers are unlikely to go back to the negotiating table.

The other players in the shop window are Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, and Jadon Sancho. But none of them have sparked any real interest.

Yoro’s thrilling arrival in mid-July may be the only one this summer if United is unable to acquire additional money through player sales.

Due to ten years of financial mismanagement by the previous administration, PSR and FFP restrictions are commonplace for the Red Devils.

The sales of Wan-Bissaka and McTominay were supposed to clear the path for Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain and Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich.

Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Lindelof’s preseason injuries have further increased the necessity for a fourth centre defender, making Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans United’s sole viable choices.

However, no more sales could stop any further arrivals and make Ten Hag’s team smaller than it was the previous year. This is a serious worry, considering the 66 instances of sickness or injury.
