Diogo Jota breaks Liverpool dressing room silence over Jurgen Klopp’s new job

Jurgen Klopp has been hired as Red Bull’s new Global Head of Soccer, after standing down as Liverpool manager at the end of last season.
Diogo Jota is the first Liverpool player to respond to Jurgen Klopp’s new role as Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull.
The 57-year-old German will begin his new enterprise in January, having stepped down as Liverpool’s head coach at the end of last season.
Jota, speaking to Portuguese newspaper Record while on international duty, remarked of his old boss: “Klopp?” I adore him, and we must accept his decision. I wish him the best of luck in this new phase.
The Champions League and Premier League champion, who has spent the summer vacationing in his Mallorca villa, is sure that he would never manage again, despite choosing to stay in the game.
However, his Red Bull contract apparently has a break provision that would allow him to manage the Germany national team in the future, if the chance arises.
The Liverpool legend remarked earlier this week, while revealing the decision, “After nearly 25 years on the sidelines, I could not be more pleased to get part in a project like this. My function may have changed, but my love for football and the people who make it what it is has not.
“By joining Red Bull on a global scale, I hope to develop, improve, and support the incredible football talent that we have at our disposal.” There are several ways that we may accomplish this goal by using Red Bull’s exceptional expertise and experience to learn from other sports and businesses. Together, we can explore what is possible.
“I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs but ultimately, I am one part of an organisation that is unique, innovative and forward looking.”
The transfer has not been without controversy in Klopp’s native Germany, as Borussia Dortmund fans are questioning his loyalty to the club now that he will be aiding rivals RB Leipzig.
Red Bull also owns Austrian powerhouse Red Bull Salzburg, the New York Red Bulls, and the Brazilian team Red Bull Bragantino. Earlier this year, they purchased a minority investment in Leeds United and became the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor.
Klopp had previously been linked with the USMNT post, but he declined an offer before they hired former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
