Rio Ferdinand disagrees with Ruben Amorim’s first major Man Utd decision

After just one day as Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim has already been informed that his decision to fire Ruud van Nistelrooy from the coaching staff was a mistake.
Rio Ferdinand claims that by firing Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ruben Amorim ran the danger of offending the Manchester United players and supporters.
After Erik ten Hag was fired, Van Nistelrooy managed four games as interim manager. However, he was informed on Monday that his services are no longer needed. While Amorim finished up at Sporting Lisbon, the former United striker did a good job as manager, winning three games and drawing one. However, his stay at the club ended after only a few months.
Amorim and the coaching team he collaborated with at Sporting, who will now take over at United, arrived in Manchester on Monday. He personally informed Van Nistelrooy of his choice, and he is now looking forward to his first game as manager, which is against Ipswich on November 24.
Van Nistelrooy and Ferdinand played together at United, and Ferdinand has been pleased with his behaviour in recent weeks. “I think that knowing him, there was a steely determination underneath that said, ‘I’m going to put myself in the best position, either to stay at the club in some capacity or someone else is going to say we need you as a manager.'” His audition couldn’t have gone even better. Before the choice was determined, he stated on Rio Ferdinand Presents, “He looked the part and he produced.”
That was necessary for the players. There was a lot of upheaval at the time, the manager’s relationships with some players appeared to be broken and irreparable, and the supporters appeared to have decided that was it. You normally get that bounce when the new manager takes over, but this one seemed a little different.
“There was a sincere ‘we want to do well for this guy’ and the players had come to really like him. They liked how he kept them informed about various bits and pieces, tactically, individually, and as a team.”
Owen Hargreaves, a former United midfielder, went on to say that he thought Amorim should have retained Van Nistelrooy in order to get the former player’s viewpoint and to work specifically with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund: “They need to learn from one of the best to ever do it.” He can teach these guys the tiny things, but you don’t have to be the coach or the main man.
“We’ve been sitting here waiting for a manager to connect with the players,” Ferdinand said, confirming his “100%” agreement. We currently have one. Why will you be getting rid of him? The manager will be the main source of contention and uncertainty. He will be the one to determine whether or not to keep Ruud.
“It’s a difficult choice because declaring, ‘I don’t care who’s next to me, I can do this,’ requires a huge personality, character, and confidence in your abilities. You must determine whether he will be a distraction or an asset.
