After his family house was broken into for the second time in ten months, Joelinton, a midfielder for Newcastle, made a fervent appeal to the robbers who targeted it.
After his home was broken into for the second time in a year, Joelinton, a star for Newcastle, pleaded with criminals to stop pursuing his family.
Back in January, a break-in shocked the Brazilian footballer and his family. And since a similar event occurred during the current international break, he has now urged the perpetrators to cease stealing his goods.
“Our home was broken into again,” he wrote on Instagram. Please be aware that nothing of value is left here if you are thinking about doing this! The safety of our family and the fearless upbringing of our children are our top priorities.
“We want to live in a community where everyone’s children, including ours, feel safe. We request that our house be recognised as a place where our family feels safe. All we want is to live in harmony.
The 28-year-old and his family reside on a street called “Millionaires’ Row” in Darras Hall, Northumberland, a village located just north of Newcastle. With spouse Thays Gondim, he has three children: two sons and a daughter.
The first time robbers targeted his mansion was back in January, when Joelinton was at St James’ Park for Newcastle’s Premier League game versus Manchester City. Despite being injured, he went to the game, so the home was vacant.
After receiving security alerts on their phones, the couple called Northumbria Police officers. However, the robbers had already left by the time they reached the address.

Another Runnymede Road resident at the time told the Mirror: “The road was blocked off when I returned from the match. The area was heavily patrolled by the police. I didn’t understand it was Joelinton’s house until much later.
“There have been a lot of burglaries in the area lately, but they haven’t been on football players’ homes,” he continued. It does get you to consider security. The most important thing is that I’m relieved his wife and kids weren’t home.”
Joelinton paid £40 million to join Newcastle from Hoffenheim in 2019, and he has since made 198 appearances for the team, tallying 15 assists and 27 goals. He scored in their 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest the weekend before the international break, and he has two goals in 11 Premier League games this season.
Despite having five caps for Brazil, he was left out of the most recent roster for their World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Venezuela.
