Before putting his system into place, Ruben Amorim had the opportunity to observe his players in training and quickly evaluated a number of his Manchester United players.
The Manchester United players that will and won’t fit into the style of play that Ruben Amorim wants to use have already been determined.
After arriving last week, the new manager has already gotten a feel for the place at Carrington by working with his players this week. Amorim has been astounded by the lack of speed and energy in training and feels that the Manchester team is too big.
In an attempt to make an initial impression, the former Sporting Lisbon manager, who comes with a solid reputation, has had to remind his players repeatedly throughout the week that they need to ramp up the tempo.
Amorim wants to implement his 3-4-3 system as soon as possible, and The Sun is aware that he already knows some players won’t be able to play in it. To get players up to speed, the coaching staff and analysts are training them and having them watch Amorim’s setup demonstrations.
Sunday’s match against Ipswich Town will mark the 39-year-old’s debut game in command. United is anticipated to change their appearance, and Amorim has stated that his identity will be important in the first few weeks.
Amorim has been astounded by the calibre of some players and training elements as he has been by the calibre of others. After their worst-ever start to a season, United is still lingering around the Premier League’s bottom half, which is not a true representation of where the squad should be.
Despite not being prepared to contend for the championship, the Manchester side has been heavily invested in, and a higher return is anticipated. Amorim has arrived and has not held back in his evaluation of the team and their more than ten-year history of failures.
The United players have been “living in Sir Alex Ferguson’s shadow” as they have been unable to duplicate his success, according to Amorim. Amorim feels they haven’t exploited the Scot’s spirit as a motivator, given he was the last player to win a Premier League trophy, and that was in 2013.
According to a source, he informed them that instead of encouraging his squad to play with Sir Alex’s spirit, top managers have failed to duplicate his success because they have lived in his shadow.
