Gary Neville Slammed After What He Did Following Man United Winner at Anfield

The Manchester United legend was on Sky Sports’ commentary during the game versus Liverpool.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has faced criticism for his reaction to Harry Maguire’s winning goal at Anfield.
On Sunday, Manchester United headed to Anfield to play traditional rivals Liverpool in one of the most anticipated Premier League games of the season.
With the strain on Ruben Amorim mounting, the United manager would have been overjoyed when winger Bryan Mbeumo controversially seized the lead minutes into the first half.
However, the hosts were not about to give up just yet, as Cody Gakpo equalised as Liverpool increased the pressure in the hopes of a late comeback.
But it wasn’t to be such an unlikely hero. Maguire scored the winning goal for United in the dying minutes, and Sky Sports announcer Neville couldn’t contain his enthusiasm.

As with the previous encounters between United and Liverpool, Sky Sports’ Neville and Jamie Carragher provided commentary for the match between their old clubs.
And as soon as his former club scored what was very likely the winning goal, Neville couldn’t contain himself and let out an ecstatic scream and shouted ‘Yes!’, infuriating supporters online.
In response to Neville’s reaction to Maguire’s goal, one fan said on X: “Mate Sky needs to speak with Gary Neville. When Arsenal scored the other week, he said “no no no” down the microphone. United just scored today, and he’s shouting like the 2013 KSI.
“If you can’t be impartial pack it up man, sick of it.”
Another wrote, “Gary Neville was shouting into his microphone. Sky Sports has reached a new low.
One Arsenal supporter agreed, saying, “Get Gary Neville off commentating duties, far too emotional and biassed, ridiculous to hear his squeaky celebrations after that goal, bore off.”

Liverpool has now lost four consecutive matches in all competitions, dropping to third place in the table, four points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Amorim becomes the first manager to lead United to victory at Anfield since Louis van Gaal in January 2016, despite the efforts of five different managers over a period of ten matches in the Premier League and European competitions.
