The potential Chelsea lineup under Maresca after the January transfer is concluded is as follows: (3-4-3) Chelsea in and out this January

Wesley Fofana, a former Leicester City defender, may be uncertain to face the Foxes for Chelsea following the international break.

The 23-year-old defender, who relocated from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge in August 2022 for a reported £70 million, has been obliged to withdraw from the France squad due to an injury. During the November international break, he was summoned to participate in Nations League matches against Italy and Israel.

Nevertheless, the French Football Federation issued a statement that confirmed Fofana’s return to Chelsea, stating that he was “experiencing pain in his left knee.” A 1-1 stalemate against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday was Chelsea’s final match before the international break, and Fofana played the entire 90 minutes.

In a statement, Chelsea verified Fofana’s return to the club, stating that “Wesley Fofana has withdrawn from the France squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel and Italy.”

“The French Football Federation issued a statement on Monday, confirming that the defender was “experiencing discomfort in his left knee” as a result of our draw with Arsenal at the weekend.”

On Saturday, November 23, the Premier League will recommence with the Foxes hosting Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.
