Sky Germany writer Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Arsenal is closely observing the situation of Leroy Sane, the forward from Bayern Munich.

Mikel Arteta’s team is actively seeking other players before the transfer window closes on August 30th, following the successful acquisitions of David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori.

Arsenal has been associated with various players to strengthen their attacking line this summer, such as Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. However, Sesko rejected Arsenal’s interest and recently extended his contract with the Bundesliga club.

Plettenberg states that Sane is also being considered by Arsenal, as Arteta has a strong rapport with the winger. The two had a successful period working together at Manchester City.

Should he decide to join, the German national player, who currently receives a weekly salary of £330k at Bayern, would be reunited with his former Manchester City teammates Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus at the Emirates.

With only 12 months remaining on his existing contract, Sane is now completely dedicated to Bayern. Plettenberg claims that the 28-year-old is eager to prolong his agreement with the Bundesliga powerhouses.

Sane is currently prioritising his focus on Bayern, although he is still being considered as a potential candidate by Arsenal.
