4-2-3-1: Manchester United predicted XI vs Arsenal, Rasmus Hojlund returns

Published

on

Here is our expected starting lineup for Manchester United’s match versus Arsenal as they begin the US leg of their preseason this summer.

The competition is intensifying now that Manchester United is facing Premier League rivals Arsenal in Los Angeles, following two preseason matches against Rosenborg and Rangers.

A few players from Euro 2024 are back, giving Erik ten Hag a good roster to pick from.

A number of promising young players have been added to the team for the match, so more wonderkids will probably get the opportunity to provide a standout performance.

Thus, as the match draws closer, this is how we think United will lineup against Arsenal.

How Arsenal and Manchester United might line up
Like last summer, United’s first major test of the summer will come against Arsenal. Following a few players’ comebacks from injuries and their participation in Euro 2024, Ten Hag is expected to start with a 29-man United squad.

André Onana

There isn’t much doubt that Andre Onana will start in goal, but given how excellent he was against Rosenborg, we’d love to see Radek Vitek receive some playing time as well.

ADDITIONAL UNITED STORIES
Onana is in his second season at United, so we anticipate significant improvement from him, perhaps assisted by a stronger defence.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

With Noussair Mazraoui a potential target, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future at Manchester United appears uncertain at best.

Although Wan-Bissaka is the only right-back on the trip, Victor Lindelof appeared to be positioned at right-back in certain training footage.

Leny Yoro

As Rasmus Hojlund put it, Leny Yoro is now the top player in United’s defence, and following an outstanding debut, we can’t wait to see more of him.

Yoro will benefit from playing as many preseason games as he can to develop rapport with his teammates.

Evans Jonny

After a strong performance last weekend, we believe Ten Hag will remain with Jonny Evans in addition to Yoro.

Since Harry Maguire hasn’t played yet, it would be prudent to choose the most appropriate alternative right away.

Sam Murray

Sam Murray is expected to start against Arsenal, as he has in both of the team’s friendlies thus far, since Tyrell Malacia is back at Carrington and Luke Shaw is on vacation.

Given their age differences, Murray is currently obviously preferred over Harry Amass, although it wouldn’t be shocking if Amass were to win.

Casemiro

Casemiro is expected to start here as well as continue to play for Ten Hag’s team as United searches for a new defensive midfield player.

Although Scott McTominay has made a comeback, Casemiro is unlikely to be benched in this situation.

Toby Collyer

Collyer is currently paving the road for himself to play a part in the upcoming season, and we anticipate seeing him make his competitive debut in the upcoming month.

Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo is an obvious choice to start here after his miraculous goal against Rangers was reminiscent of Bukayo Saka’s against Switzerland.

If Alejandro Garnacho isn’t to be utilised there, his performance in the final game of the previous season and his start to the preseason should solidify his status as the team’s first choice right flank.

Masonry Mount

After a disappointing debut season, Mason Mount is subtly improving his confidence and match fitness during the preseason.

Mount should start here because he contributed Amad’s goal against Rangers, and Bruno Fernandes is still on vacation.

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford should play against Arsenal after sitting out the match against Rangers owing to an injury. He wants to recover some confidence before the new campaign begins.

In the pregame press conference, Erik ten Hag expressed his confidence in Marcus Rashford, and if we were to guess, it would seem prudent to presume he will be back to his best.

Hojlund Rasmus

After a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign, Rasmus Hojlund is eager to build on his 16 goals from the previous season in his second campaign with United.

Hojlund is likely to be back in the starting lineup against Arsenal while Ethan Wheatley is on tour, giving him plenty of time to hone his skills before the Community Shield in two weeks.
