For Arsenal’s match against Bayer Leverkusen, the squad list that was included in the programme did not include Kieran Tierney in any way, shape, or form.

On Wednesday night at the Emirates, the Gunners defeated the Bundesliga champions by a score of 4-1 in their penultimate pre-season match. The Gunners were able to easily defeat the Bundesliga champions.

However, Tierney’s name was not featured on the list of Arsenal’s squad members that was printed in the pre-match programme for the friendly match.

As a result of the hamstring injury he sustained at the 2024 European Championship, the Scotland international, who is a huge fan favourite, was not in contention for the match.

Despite this, it is fairly uncommon for athletes to be completely removed from the program squad rosters when they are injured.

The exclusion of him was quickly noticed by fans of the Gunners as well.

“If my memory serves me correctly, the same thing happened with [Nicolas] Pepe last season,” one person added, alluding to the former Arsenal star Pepe, who left for Trabzonspor.

“Kieran Tierney is not even included on the matchday programme,” a second person stated. Without a doubt, he is going to leave.”

After spending the previous season on loan at Real Sociedad, a Spanish club, the defender, who is 27 years old, has been linked with a summer transfer for a considerable amount of time.

Within the context of an interview that took place in April with talkSPORT, Tierney stated that he is uncertain about the future that lies ahead for him in north London.

In addition, he indicated that the loan swap that he made during the previous season was the best decision for both himself and the club. He was trying to recapture his form after falling down the pecking order from the previous season.

He responded, “It’s hard to put a finger on it,” when he was questioned about the circumstances that led to him being leased out.

“However, the way things had progressed at Arsenal, the way the team was performing, and the events that transpired during the previous season with regard to game time.”

Getting out of the house, gaining a new experience, and getting some gaming time was probably the best thing that could have happened for both of us.

“And when you don’t play, you do lose a bit of your confidence, so to go over here and get that back has been great.”
