CONFIRMED: Man United confirms shocking swap deal as player joins on a Five-Years deal

Manchester United is considering a number of choices this summer to strengthen their midfield.
Earlier in the summer window, the club showed interest in signing Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain, but they cooled their pursuit because of the £52 million asking price.

The Red Devils are considering their options. They just spoke with Monaco about Youssouf Fofana, and they are now in negotiations with Burnley about Sander Berge.

As to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, the club has initiated a conversation with the Championship team to deliberate on the terms of a potential agreement. “Wanting to move” to Old Trafford is Berge.

Berge would make a respectable addition to United.
Early in the transfer window, the Red Devils took the initiative. Early in the preseason, they were able to sign Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

Although it was expected that they would keep spending at the same rate, that hasn’t happened. The club is operating on a tight budget and does not wish to overspend.

As a result, Ugarte is no longer an option. Although Fofana might be available for about £30 million, Berge appears to be United’s main target. They are willing to spend about £20 million.

The Clarets are hoping to pay over £30 million, but United will be hoping to negotiate a lower price.

Berge’s first season with the Clarets was passable the previous season. In the top division, he completed 89% of his passes while averaging 1.6 clearances, 2.1 tackles, and 5.5 recoveries per game.

The Norwegian has an uncanny penchant to make mistakes, yet he is also good at maintaining possession. Back in April, one of those gave Antony a goal in a 1-1 draw.

Burnley’s Player of the Season award went to the 26-year-old, but if United wants to contend for the Premier League crown in the future, they should set their sights higher than him.
