Following their 3-3 tie with FC Porto, Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Manchester United, posted a modified social media statement expressing his strong opinions.

Harry Maguire’s header in stoppage time gave United a late point against the Portuguese powerhouses in their Europa League group stage match. Marcus Rashford and Hojlund gave Erik ten Hag’s team a two-goal lead after 20 minutes, and things could have turned out very differently.

But the home team rallied, and after two goals in seven minutes from Pepe and Samu Omorodion, they were tied. Following the break, Omorodion gave Porto the lead, and in the closing moments of the match in Portugal, Bruno Fernandes’ second straight red card brought United down to ten men.

As the pressure mounted, Maguire was there to save face and salvage a point as Ten Hag headed home in the late hours of the game. Hojlund shared the following modified photo on Instagram: “Fortunately, I had six weeks to prepare my celebration. It would have been ideal if we had won.

Speaking following the draw, the Dutchman was implacable in his evaluation as doubts mounted. “We will get there,” he remarked. Please don’t judge us right now.

“After the season is over, assess us. We’re working on it and will become better. After two seasons, we have made it to the finals. This team needs to grow and advance.

“We’re going to work, keep going, and fight. The team dynamic and camaraderie between the employees are evident.

“The players have a great sense of unity among themselves. We are moving in the direction of what we want to accomplish. We possess that mindset and passion, but we must rise to the occasion, particularly when it comes to certain defensive areas.
