Man Utd’s deciding votes on Erik ten Hag future contradicts Sir Jim Ratcliffe claim

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is under tremendous pressure, with club officials having a seven-hour crisis meeting on Tuesday, when his future was a key topic of debate.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly part of a three-person committee that will make the final decision on Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager.
United executives convened a seven-hour crisis meeting on Tuesday, with Ten Hag’s future dominating the discussion following the club’s worst start to a Premier League season. Ratcliffe and co-owner Joel Glazer were there, along with CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, and director Sir Dave Brailsford.
The meeting also included Collette Roche, the chief operations officer, and Roger Bell, the chief financial officer. When asked about Ten Hag’s future, Ratcliffe said it was “not my call” last Friday.
When asked if he believes in Ten Hag, he told BBC Sport, “I don’t want to answer that question.” I like Erik. I believe he is an excellent coach, but it is ultimately not my decision.
“The management team that runs Manchester United must decide how to best operate the team in a variety of ways. However, Manchester United’s current management team has only been in place since June or July.
“Omar and Dan Ashworth were not there in January, February, March, or April; they came in July. They have only been there… They’ve only been there for a few weeks, so they need to assess the situation and make some sound judgments.
“Our objective is very clear – we want to take Manchester United back to where it should be, and it’s not there yet, obviously – that’s very clear.”
According to the Daily Mail, Ratcliffe is part of a three-person group that includes co-chairman Joel Glazer and INEOS’ director of sport Brailsford, and the trio will allegedly make the ultimate decision on Ten Hag’s future. That choice will be based on recommendations from Berrada, Ashworth, and Wilcox, who work directly with Ten Hag on a regular basis. Berrada and Ashworth did publicly support the Dutchman last month, although it was just before United were defeated 3-0 by rivals Liverpool.
Since the briefing, United has lost five of its seven games in all competitions, with its only successes coming against winless Southampton in the Premier League and League One side Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.
