Arsenal’s concerns regarding William Saliba’s injuries have been alleviated following his introduction to the training site.

Exactly one year ago, Arsenal lost their most prominent player, William Saliba, which had a significant impact on their chances of winning the Premier League title. The Frenchman, along with Takehiro Tomiyasu, sustained injuries during their second leg Europa League last-16 match against Sporting CP.

Arsenal, having been eliminated from the competition due to penalties, suffered more setbacks as the absence of Saliba and Tomiyasu undermined their well-established defensive strength and hindered their aspirations. Despite the loss of Jurrien Timber, who was brought in to address depth issues and avert defensive disasters, Arsenal has managed to avoid such setbacks so far.

However, the situation is likely to change as the Dutch international is nearing his return, and both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko are also close to making their comebacks. These acquisitions are well timed for the team, since they will have 10 games remaining after the international break, which marks the crucial stage of the season.

The initial event entails a visit to the Etihad Stadium for a match against Manchester City. William Saliba was absent from this encounter, as he was also unable to play at Anfield during the run-in.

Arsenal lost a total of five points in both games, with Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes playing together. In a previous encounter at the Emirates Stadium, Saliba played Pep Guardiola’s team and successfully prevented them from scoring, resulting in a 1-0 victory for his team.

Arteta stated that Tomiyasu had resumed training on the pitch after the 6-0 victory against Sheffield United last Saturday. The absence of the soon-to-renew defender, Saliba, prevented Ben White from moving inside to provide cover, which forced Holding into the title-chasing side. This was a significant boost.
