According to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, despite a lacklustre preseason, the Chelsea team is supporting new manager Enzo Maresca.

After Celtic defeated the Blues 4-1 in a friendly, some Blues supporters started to question Maresca’s new strategies and approach.

Dewsbury-Hall, nevertheless, has maintained that the team is cooperating well behind the scenes and has accepted the manager’s style of play.

During his Championship-winning season with Leicester last year, the 25-year-old worked under the Italian manager, and he said that the players were sold on his playstyle in less than a week.

Dewsbury-Hall now insists that everything will work out at Stamford Bridge in a similar way. “I am getting the same feedback here with the lads,” he declared. From the beginning, they have accepted it.

“You can actually do something if everyone buys in, therefore you need their support. If that keeps up, we have the potential to be a powerful force.

After the team’s 4-1 loss to Celtic and 2-2 tie with Wrexham, Maresca has reminded supporters that the main goals of these games are to improve form and fitness rather than to win.

Maresca stated on Chelsea TV, “We don’t like the outcome as you described. Four concessions is too much. Additionally, the number of opportunities we generated in the first half—we had two obvious opportunities from the off. We began the second half in the same manner.

“The game ended with the third goal scored. I believe it was very evident how different our physical conditions were from theirs. You can tell that, while it was just our second game before the break, they are a team that will begin their official season in just one week. I could clearly see the difference in bodily state.”

On Sunday, August 18, Chelsea will play their Premier League opener at Stamford Bridge against the reigning champions, Manchester City.
