Breaking News: Man Utd Plotting Move for Vanderson should Wan-Bissaka Leave

Vanderson seems like a possible Aaron Wan-Bissaka replacement for Manchester United.
At £30 million, Vanderson would provide an offensive danger Wan-Bissaka does not.
United is also weighing left-back choices like Sergio Reguilon, Miguel Gutierrez, and Milos Kerkez.

Sky Sports reports that Manchester United has identified Monaco full-back Vanderson as a possible replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is expected to draw offers this summer.

As the Red and Whites came second in the French top division, Vanderson surprised last season in Ligue 1 by scoring three goals in 23 appearances across all competitions. Teams from all around Europe have been monitoring the Brazilian scenario thanks to this form; Tottenham apparently shows interest.

But if Wan-Bissaka leaves Old Trafford this summer, Sky Sports advise United might turn to the offensive right-back. The former Crystal Palace player is connected to a contract to West Ham, which would force United to strengthen in this posture should it come to pass.

United Sighting Vanderson
Four years still left on his contract for the defender.

Rising through the Gremio system, Vanderson signed a €11 million contract with Monaco, heading to Europe. Unknown on the continent at that time, the wing-back has gone on to prove himself as one of the most dynamic players in Ligue 1, characterised by football commentator Ben Mattinson as being “very good going forward” and as having “clear potential.”

Now, having just turned 23 and made 84 appearances for Monaco, the Brazilian national could be ready for a step-up. Although Napoli has also been connected with the £30m-rated star in the past, Tottenham apparently sees him as Emerson Royal’s replacement.

United have surfaced as a possible suiter for the dynamic defender. Sky Sports say the player is on a shortlist, also including Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen as a possible successor to Wan-Bissaka.

Having lost his spot to United’s player of the season last year, Diogo Dalot, the Englishman named above has a year left on his contract at Old Trafford and is thus surplus to needs. Beginning only 20 Premier League games, this summer the one-on–one specialised tackler might be available for under £15 million.

With funds raised from a Wan-Bissaka sale perhaps providing the necessary economic resources needed to pry the Brazilian away from Monaco, Vanderson, under contract at Stade Louis II until 2028 and blessed with “obscene pace” could be a useful alternative to Dalot. With Antony struggling on Erik ten Hag’s side last season, the tactical change from a defensive full-back to a marauding outlet should give that side a fresh lease of offensive life down the right.

There is also a desire for a left-back at United.
Injury has been a challenge for Shaw and Malacia.

While bolstering the right-side of defence is on the agenda for Ten Hag, the left-side could be of paramount importance. Luke Shaw started 12 Premier League games last season, while Tyrell Malacia didn’t feature once all campaign. Thus, adding a player with more durability should be seen as pivotal to the United hierarchy.

The Red Devils could look at Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez this summer, with the player linked with a move to north-west after impressing for the Cherries last year. Elsewhere, Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez is reportedly an option, while Sergio Reguilon could be re-signed from Tottenham, after enduring a disappointing loan spell at the club last season.
