Man Utd’s transfers are relevant to more than just new players. Sofyan Amrabat is someone the Red Devils like to see return to Old Trafford. The Moroccan 2022 World Cup standout was on loan to the team for the previous season.

On his loan agreement, the Red Devils had a £16.8 million buy-option that was set to expire yesterday, but the team declined to exercise it. Rather, Manchester United is still keen in signing the 27-year-old, even at a lower cost.

Fiorentina will now try to come to a deal at a lower price, or with any other Premier League team that the Atlas Lions star want to join, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport. Amrabat would love to stay in the Premier League in England.

Given that the playmaker himself is eager to stay with the team, Manchester United is unquestionably the front-runner to sign the Moroccan international. The Red Devils would have the upper hand in talks with the Viola as a result.

Amrabat started just 17 games during the course of the previous season, making him an irregular starter in Erik ten Hag’s team. He did, however, demonstrate his abilities towards the conclusion of the campaign, even filling in for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia in left defence.

Given that the 27-year-old would be a cheap midfield alternative, it seems logical that the Red Devils would want to sign him permanently. Erik ten Hag appears to agree that having a versatile player like Amrabat is a major benefit for any squad.

Now, it would be crucial to reach a fee agreement with the Italian side, who are obviously ready to sell. Man Utd has to complete this transfer as quickly as possible if the terms are favourable since it will position them well for the remainder of the summer window and give them more time to concentrate on other areas.
