Breaking News: Newcastle Untied make official announcement after ‘elite’ £30m deal

The formal launch of Newcastle United’s 2024–25 Adidas home jersey has taken place.
The 2024–25 Adidas home kit for Newcastle United went on sale on Friday morning at 8 a.m.

In order to get their hands on the much awaited garment, some fans stood in queue starting early on Friday morning. It follows Newcastle and Adidas’ five-year elite manufacturing agreement, which is estimated to be worth more than £30 million annually.

Newcastle’s home shirt, which costs £80 for adults and £55 for kids, features “elements inspired by the distinctive 2003 design.” By the end of August, £5 will be donated to the Newcastle United Foundation for each home shirt purchased straight from the club store or online.

After Newcastle negotiated an early break from their contract with Castore, Adidas, who had previously supplied the team’s uniforms from 1995 until 2010, has returned. In addition to selling the new Adidas line, Newcastle will once again be in charge of its retail division and offer official club apparel.

The official statement from Newcastle stated: “The home jersey offers a modern twist on a timeless classic, complemented by the Adidas three-stripes detailing on the shoulders up to the collar. It honours this iconic era with three bold, black stripes and a full-color crest.” The traditional club crest is returning as a back neck sign-off in honour of the club’s history, underscoring the city’s unbreakable bond.

Peter Silverstone, the chief commercial officer of Newcastle, discussed the new kit release while in attendance at the temporary club shop opening on Friday morning.

“This iconic training range and home kit represents the beginning of an exciting partnership with Adidas, one of the most prestigious sportswear brands in the world,” Silverstone stated.

Adidas’ strong relationship with its devoted fan base instills great confidence in us that the new product lines they have designed for the 24/25 season and beyond will be hugely popular. It is certain that our supporters will proudly don the three stripes.

“This partnership launch marks the beginning of an exciting adventure, coinciding with the club’s internal retail business relaunch. Together, we want to arouse the enthusiasm and imagination of our followers, who proudly display our black and white stripes wherever they go.

“The partnership between Adidas and Newcastle United is iconic, and we are excited to unveil the home kit for the upcoming season,” said Nick Craggs, global football manager for Adidas.
