This summer, Chelsea is reportedly close to signing two new young players, according to football.london.

The Blues and Barcelona are in advanced negotiations on a potential trade for Marc Guiu, and it is believed that all sides are close to reaching a decision. According to reports, the 18-year-old’s deal with the £5 million La Liga powerhouses includes a release clause.

It seems obvious to Chelsea to exercise such a meek clause, as football.london is aware. In about a year, Guiu’s contract with Barcelona will expire. Although the club and the teenager have discussed extending his stay, it currently appears like Guiu’s next move in his career will be at Stamford Bridge.

However, nothing is set in stone, and the player’s choice hasn’t been verified yet. Chelsea, nevertheless, is becoming more and more optimistic that they can finalise the signing of the much sought-after adolescent prodigy as soon as possible.

In a more significant transaction, Chelsea is about to sign Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa to a long-term contract. Football.london reports that the transaction, which is estimated to cost approximately £19 million, is almost finalised. The club intends to incorporate the 18-year-old into the senior team for the upcoming season.

Kellyman is almost certain to sign a six-year contract with Stamford Bridge; this agreement is far more advanced than Guiu’s. If Enzo Maresca was unsure or confused about Chelsea’s project under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital model, the most recent “double signing” has cleared things up.

After purchasing the team in May 2022, Boehly and Clearlake signed an incredible 34 players for Chelsea. Surprisingly, 21 of the players—more than 61% of the newcomers—were under 21 when they signed with the Blues.

Although Boehly is adamant that Chelsea should invest in the future in this way, the club’s progress has recently stalled as a result. As he stated in April, the American billionaire is optimistic that his project in west London will finally succeed.

Boehly stated, “We just need to let the process develop and give them the time to go from being unbelievable individual players with great skills to fold into a team,” during an interview for Forbes magazine. That people care so much is excellent news.

“The unfortunate thing is that people give a damn.” They eventually become frustrated with the team and the owners as a result of this. I understand, but we must press on with the current line of action.”

The club decided to sever ties with Mauricio Pochettino after that interview. Maresca, who officially takes over as Chelsea’s head coach next week, has replaced the Argentine.

Maresca was promptly given a five-year deal by Chelsea, demonstrating their great faith in him. When Pochettino took over as manager last year, he was only offered a two-year contract.

Chelsea’s sporting directors and ownership group conducted a comprehensive procedure and evaluated several possibilities before reaching a unanimous decision to name the Italian coach. Football.london knows that Maresca is very eager to meet the team and share his thoughts on why he thinks his system will succeed at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca has already completed his research. The 44-year-old has requested performance analyses on every player from the academy to the first team from the data specialists. He has also requested specifics on every individual he will be collaborating with on the training pitch in the future.
