Chelsea is still trying to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen before the deadline at 11 p.m., with a club team in Naples trying to convince the player, according to sources in the sport.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Nigerian international all summer, but his high release clause has made it impossible to make a deal. But now that the time has passed, the club has made a real move to get him.

The Blues want Victor Osimhen.
Al-Ahli posed a huge threat, though.

Chelsea isn’t the only team interested in Osimhen, though. Al-Ahli, a huge Saudi team, has agreed to a €68 million deal with Napoli, but they still need to convince the player to join.

GMS sources say that a deal has been agreed upon that is worth €30 million per season plus €40 million in bonuses, for a total of €160 million. But Osimhen wants a clause in the deal that lets them out of the contract in the summer of 2025, while Al-Ahli wants it in the summer of 2026. Instead of the €120 million that he has at Napoli, the option would be worth about €65 million. This delay has made it possible for Chelsea to sign him.

It seems like the Blues want him to stay in Europe instead of moving to the Middle East. They are ready to offer him a loan with the condition that they have to buy him back next summer.

The future of Ivan Toney is linked to Osimhen
These two teams are also interested in the Brentford forward.

The future of Osimhen should be clear by Friday. This could also clear the way for the future of Ivan Toney, a scorer for Brentford and England.

Since the 29-year-old is in the last year of his deal, most teams have been expecting him to leave the Bees all summer. However, their asking price has been too high for most candidates. That being said, both clubs are still interested in a deal, and the team that doesn’t get Osimhen could focus on making a deal for Toney instead.

According to people in the sport, Toney has decided to move to Saudi Arabia, but he would rather stay in the Premier League. It is known how much Brentford wants, and a deal could still be made late in the window.
