'I don't want': Mauricio Pochettino's brutal response to questions about his relationship with Chelsea fans

Throughout the first season, the former Tottenham manager’s relationship with Chelsea fans has been challenging.
The Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, claims that during his first season, he had an equally difficult relationship with Tottenham fans, but that things naturally improved.

Since taking over, there has been a perception that the Argentinian hasn’t done enough to win over Chelsea supporters.

Many people consider the 52-year-old to be one of Tottenham’s finest managers in recent memory because he guided the team to the Champions League final in 2019 and helped them place second in the league during his tenure in North London.

Due to his past, there would always be a gap between him and the Chelsea supporters. However, the Argentine manager, who has managed the team to compete in European football despite a lengthy list of injuries, expresses his hope that when the love comes, it will be genuine and not manufactured.

Prior to the trip to Brighton, he said to reporters at the team’s training facility in Surrey: “The first season was tough also in Tottenham.” We are not fake people, which is what bothers me.

We won’t claim to be in love with something if we don’t still feel a connection to it. Although it is not in my nature, it is simple for me to get to the first game and kiss the badge. My goal is to evoke genuine emotions. We are not fake people, so if we show up one day and feel the love from the fans, it will be genuine and not fake.

The Blues had only won two of their previous 12 away games coming into the match against Nottingham Forest, but they will be looking to win their first straight away from Stamford Bridge this season when they travel to the Amex.

They could still finish sixth behind Newcastle if they win their next two games and Newcastle drops points because of how much of a turnaround they have made.
