Man City aim shameless dig at Liverpool with Sky Sports pundits left in stitches
In the aftermath of Liverpool’s 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, the broadcasting team from Sky Sports found the humorous side of a dig that Manchester City had directed at Liverpool.
In what turned out to be a relatively uncomplicated victory for Liverpool against Pep Guardiola’s team, Mo Salah not only scored but also assisted his teammate Dominik Szoboszlai.
Salah, who is 32 years old, received praise from a great number of people for his performance and even established six new records while he was playing for Manchester City.
Following the 2-0 victory, the team coached by Arne Slot was able to take three points away from the Etihad Stadium. This victory allowed them to move 11 points ahead of Arsenal, who were in second place in the Premier League.
After the match, Salah expressed his opinion to Sky Sports, saying, “It is incredible [winning at Man City].”
As a place to come and play, this is a very challenging environment. They are a formidable team, and they had an outstanding manager to oversee them. I’m relieved that we were able to prevail in the end. It is indeed unique. This is an incredible accomplishment, especially when you are competing for the title.
Hopefully, we are able to maintain our composure because the pressure can sometimes get to us. It is our goal to win every game.
In addition, despite the fact that Salah addressed City with respect. The champions of the Premier League could not help but bring up Liverpool’s previous achievements, much to the amusement of the broadcast team from Sky Sports, which consisted of Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Micah Richards, Daniel Sturridge, and Dave Jones, the presenter.
Jones made the statement before the rest of the panel turned their attention to the electronic screen that was located inside the Etihad Stadium. “Manchester City are just reminding everyone here, if you just look behind you on the little screen there,” Jones said.
When they saw what they did, the group found it amusing. It was possible to see the words “Champions 4 In-A-Row” displayed on the screen alongside the years in which City has won the Premier League title for the same number of consecutive years.
Fans were quick to discuss their opinions on various social media platforms.
“Thank you for the reminder,” one person offered. We all, to a certain extent, ignored it. “Lmao, you’re not relevant anymore.”
Another added: “Manchester City are so petty man. The Champions League is the only one they have ever had.”
While a third commented: “You can’t compete with such a team; though credit to Manchester City for their achievements in the past decade.”
