Cost-cutting measures have continued at Manchester United, as evidenced by the confirmation of a new round of redundant positions.

Following the revelation that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ruthless cuts at Manchester United have now even reached the club canteen, this comes as a result of the revelation.

At the Carrington canteen, the only lunch options available to non-playing staff at United are soup and sandwiches, according to talkSPORT’s understanding of the situation.

Since Ratcliffe and his company, INEOS, spent one billion pounds for a 27.7 percent stake in the club the previous year, this is the most recent decision that Ratcliffe has made that has been seen as unpopular.

On Monday, the club issued a statement in which it confirmed that an additional 150 to 200 positions would be eliminated.

Ratcliffe had already parted ways with 250 staff members across all departments during the summer, so this was the second mass cull of employees that he had overseen during his tenure as an employee.

In addition, Ratcliffe has reduced the amount of money that is allocated to the charitable arm of the club, increased the price of tickets by twenty-six pounds, and even removed the legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson from his long-standing paid ambassadorial role with the club.

The announcement of the most recent reductions to the club’s canteen servings comes just a few days after United disclosed their alarming financial results for the second quarter.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the financial figures was the fact that the Red Devils had to pay an astounding fee of £14.5 million in order to fire Erik ten Hag in October.

What made the figure even more frustrating and perplexing was the fact that Ten Hag was given a new contract in the summer after United’s unexpected victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final. This made the figure even more difficult to understand.

After guiding United to a miserable eighth-place finish in the Premier League during the previous season, Ten Hag made the decision to stick with him rather than make a change. The Dutchman even admitted that the club looked for a new manager but ultimately decided to stick with him rather than alter his management style.

During the summer, Ten Hag oversaw a substantial expenditure of £200 million for new players, bringing his total spending at Old Trafford to a total of £600 million.

Ten Hag was fired, and United continued to struggle in the bottom half of the table as a result of the investment. However, the investment did not have the desired impact on the pitch.
Ever since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, United has spent an alarming £52.4 million on sacking managers. Ten Hag’s departure brought that total to an alarming level.

A number of significant financial errors were made by United, not the least of which was the decision to part ways with Ten Hag.

The financial results revealed that the departure of Dan Ashworth from his position as sporting director resulted in a loss of £4.1 million for the club.

An initial compensation payment of three million pounds was made by United to Newcastle in exchange for Ashworth’s services; however, Ratcliffe decided to part ways with the sporting director after only five months of working together.

Ruben Amorim, who took over for Ten Hag, has not exactly been able to improve the Red Devils’ performance on the pitch, which is particularly unfortunate for the team.

Since taking over as manager in November, the Portuguese manager has only won four of the fifteen league games he has worked with, with the most recent result being a 2-2 draw against Everton on Saturday.

United fought back to salvage a point thanks to goals scored by Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte in the second half. The Toffees had a 2-0 lead in the first half, but United was able to come back and salvage a point.

Due to the fact that United’s match against Everton ended in a draw, Red Devils have only managed to win one of their most recent five league matches.

In the event that Everton had been able to maintain their lead and win, United would have been relegated to the sixteenth position in the table, leaving them with 29 points and 12 points ahead of the relegation zone.
