Mesut Ozil Now Living Completely Different Life After Football as Shock New Job Revealed

After breaking through at Schalke 04 in 2006, Ozil swiftly established himself as one of the most promising young attacking midfielders in football, earning a move to Werder Bremen in 2008. He took things to the next level with the Bundesliga side, and after only two years at Weserstadion, he was signed by one of the world’s biggest football clubs, Real Madrid.

His potential was achieved with Los Blancos, as he became one of the world’s best midfielders during his time in Spain. During his three years at the Santiago Bernabeu, he impressed and even replaced Kaka in the starting lineup after the iconic Brazilian’s injury. During his career at Madrid, he won a La Liga title and played 159 games, scoring 108 goals. After concluding his playing career in Turkey, Ozil stayed there and is currently engaged in politics. As the son of Turkish immigrants, he has ties to the country, and according to the Mirror, he intends to become a politician there. The former midfielder is currently working for Turkey’s AK Party, following in the footsteps of his close buddy Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan is the current president of Turkey, and he has been representing the AK Party in that capacity since 2014. He served as best man at Ozil’s wedding in 2019, and the two are extremely close, which has led to criticism of the 36-year-old. The AK Party has ruled Turkey since 2002, and in a recent election, Erdogan retained his position as president, while Ozil was elected as one of 39 new board members. It isn’t simply his career that has changed dramatically.
