According to recent remarks made by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to remain in his position this summer and receive financial support for a second season at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have been under constant fire this season, but they are rallying late to qualify for Europe and might place as high as fifth in the Premier League standings.

Due to his management of a very young Chelsea team, Pochettino has not avoided criticism. At the end of the season, Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and the sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart will evaluate Pochettino.

Although Pochettino has been under pressure, mitigating factors like Chelsea’s long injury list will probably be taken into account. Potential successors Hansi Flick, Roberto De Zerbi, Gareth Southgate, and Ruben Amorim are all potentially available this summer.

However, with the American businessman acknowledging how impressed he has been with Chelsea’s recent improved performances, Boehly may have extended an olive branch and hinted that the Argentine will get the chance to continue leading their project.

At a Sportico conference in Los Angeles, Boehly remarked, “We’ve seen the last two and a half games, at least in the second half at Aston Villa and Tottenham and West Ham where we played just beautiful football,” according to The Athletic.

“It flowed so well; it followed our plan exactly. From the moment we started moving up the pitch and built up, it was extremely well-organized, especially considering the amount of shots we had available. You could really see the things we were working on coming together in those two and a half games. Over the past two and a half games, even the commentary has changed. Nothing has ever changed for me so quickly.

Chelsea has won at home over London rivals Tottenham and West Ham and is unbeaten since their 5-0 thumping of Arsenal. They have also drawn at top-four contenders Aston Villa and scored nine goals in their last three games.

The England international has only scored one of the Blues’ last nine goals during the run that Boehly highlighted, despite the team being known as the “Cole Palmer team” due to his one-man band heroics throughout the season.

With players like Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, and Noni Madueke emerging from the cold to make big plays at the end of the season, it seems like they have turned around in their Chelsea careers and are now more likely to stay with Pochettino.

Before the season ends at home against Bournemouth, Chelsea has away trips to Nottingham Forest and Brighton. A strong showing there could earn Chelsea a spot in Europe the following season, a substantial financial boost, and possibly even more time to develop the project under the head coach, who has had a big impact on Boehly.
