Pep Guardiola spotted wearing rare £1.1m watch – and there’s only 50 of them in the world

In the opening round of their Champions League quarterfinal, City put on a show against Real Madrid, scoring some incredible goals and resulting in an exciting 3-3 tie. On the other side, Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, and Fede Valverde all scored in a similar fashion, but the three goals scored by Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, and Josko Gvardiol were not enough to secure the victory.

Unboxing one of his most stunning timepieces was Guardiola’s way of commemorating the spectacular event in the Spanish city. Some people were more interested in the City boss’s watch than in his signature black roll-neck sweater and jacket, which is one of his trademark ensembles.

Those paying close attention observed that he was donning a unique timepiece from the Rafael Nadal collection—the Calibre RM27-01—made by the illustrious Richard Mille. Richard Mille’s ultra-light timepieces, which he released in 2013 and characterized as a “triumph of engineering and technology” due to their astonishingly low weight of 3.5 grams, were limited to just 50 pieces.

Due to its extreme rarity, its value has risen from its initial sale price of $750,000 (£600,000) to an estimated $1.5 million (£1.19m). Guardiola has an extensive collection of high-end timepieces, including several pieces designed by Richard Mille.

To honor the club, one of them is a sky-blue model named the RM-010 Manchester City Automatic. There are just thirty of them, and each one is worth about $75,000 (or $95,000). There are just five of Guardiola’s titanium RM 022 Tourbillon Aerodynes, and they’re all valued $580,000 (£462,000).

In addition to the Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL Speed Black FC Barcelona Chronograph, which was made to commemorate Barça’s 2008–09 season, Guardiola also has a far more traditional Rolex Cellini, the same watch that former US president Barack Obama favored.
