‘TERMS AGREED’ – Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd advance with next summer signing as ‘£15m fee agreed’

Before the window closes at the end of August, Manchester United hopes to finalise further transfers.
According to sources, Manchester United and Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui have already agreed on personal terms. However, a transfer depends on whether Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves the team this summer. The right-back Mazraoui was on the verge of signing a contract with West Ham, but it fell through after the Hammers agreed to a deal costing up to £15 million, with an upfront payment of £12.6 million and the remaining amount coming via add-ons.

According to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, there are “no issues” about an agreement between the teams and that the Red Devils and Mazraoui have already agreed on personal terms for a move to Old Trafford. According to The Guardian, United and Bayern have already agreed on a sum of between £15 million and £20 million, but Wan-Bissaka’s departure is a condition of the transfer. West Ham has turned to Wan-Bissaka after their attempt to recruit Mazraoui failed. According to the Guardian, the Hammers are “intent” on signing the former Crystal Palace midfielder, but an acceptable sum must be negotiated with United. Wan-Bissaka’s contract is set to expire in January, but a 12-month extension was activated in the interim.

He paid over £45 million to join United from Palace in the summer of 2019, but the Red Devils are apparently willing to let him go for just a third of that amount. Ten Hag and Mazraoui have worked together at Ajax, so they are well acquainted. Prior to joining Bayern in 2023, Mazraoui made 137 appearances for the Dutch team. Since then, he has played 55 games for the German team. Although his primary position is right back, he can also play in central midfield and has occasionally been utilised as a back four player.

United was awaiting word on the severity of Rasmus Højlund and Leny Yoro’s injuries from Saturday’s preseason match in Los Angeles against Arsenal on Sunday. “Of course it is too short [to know about their injuries], and we have to wait over 24 hours, then hopefully we will know more,” Ten Hag stated after the fact. We used caution, particularly with Leny Yoro, who participated in only half of the [training] sessions. He must speak up, but let’s remain upbeat and watch what transpires.

Regarding the match, he continued, “I thought both teams played at a very good level for the third week of preseason, but I felt like we were the better team in the first half. I was really happy with the goal we scored, which was the result of a great move and finish by [Rasmus] Hojlund after [Marcus] Rashford had put a great ball in behind. We also had a few more excellent opportunities before giving up the offside goal.
