Tottenham sacking imminent as Daniel Levy prepares for key change: report

Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, is prepared to relieve a crucial member of the team of their responsibilities.

Tottenham are in the middle of a catastrophic 2024/25 season, and chairman Daniel Levy is set to make some big changes at the club.

Having experienced a terrible campaign, in which they presently rank 13th in the Premier League, have lost both the FA Cup and League Cup and face a struggle on their hands to progress to the Europa League quarter-finals, Tottenham might see major changes occur ahead of 2025/26.

Defeat at AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their last-16 Europa League tie last week was compounded by a miraculous escape at home against Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw, but it’s not Ange Postecoglou who is apparently coming under pressure as Daniel Levy tries to wield his axe.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy ready to make changes

Tottenham was compelled to look for players in the winter transfer window in an attempt to improve their roster because Postecoglou was just having trouble finding enough players to raise a starting XI week after week because of injuries earlier this season.

Even though Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso, and Mathys Tel all showed up at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, one person was particularly negatively impacted by the Tel saga.

In fact, Spurs quickly reached an agreement to sign Tel on loan with a buyout clause at the end of the season after Bayern Munich rejected their permanent bid. After technical director Johan Lange failed in the first attempt, Levy and Postecoglou both had to step in to make the move happen.

John Wenham, a Tottenham insider, claims that because of that ordeal, Lange’s reputation has suffered greatly in Levy’s eyes, and he will probably be relieved of his responsibilities at the end of the season.

Wenham told Tottenham News, “This season has been a complete disaster.” In light of this, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Lange will be relieved of his responsibilities at the end of the season. Right now, his credibility is rather low.

After Lange’s initial failure, Daniel Levy and Postecoglou had to step in to close a deal for Tel. It’s embarrassing.

If Wenham is right, then Levy is trying to take a brutal approach at Spurs, which likely won’t sit well with most Spurs supporters who just want a more significant change at the top of the club in terms of ownership and day-to-day operations. “As a result, I wouldn’t be surprised if the people who have been involved with recent failures, aside from the ownership, are removed at the end of the season, and that includes Lange,” FourFourTwo believes.
